چکیده
This study focused on bio-oil production by thermochemical liquefaction. For the reaction, burnt pine heartwood was used as feedstock material, 2-Ethylhexanol (2-EHEX) a solvent, p-Toluenesulfonic acid (pTSA) catalyst, and solvent for washing acetone. The procedure consisted of moderate-acid-catalysed liquefaction process, it applied at three different temperatures, 120, 140, 160 °C, 30, 105, 180 min periods with 1%, 5.5%, 10% (m/m) catalyst concentration overall mass. Optimal results showed yield 86.03% higher heating value (HHV) 36.41 MJ/kg, which 1.96 times more than HHV heartwood. A reaction surface methodology (Box–Behnken design) performed optimisation. Reaction temperature, time were chosen independent variables. obtained model good high adjusted R-squared (0.988) an excellent p-value (less 0.001). liquefied products characterised Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR) thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), also Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) carried out to validate impact morphological changes area solid samples. shows opportunity method upcycle woody wastes via acid-catalysed In particular, this approach is great interest produce yield, recovering part values lost during wildfires.

Distribution of terpenes in heartwood and sapwood of loblolly pine
The purpose of this study was to investigate the distribution of terpenes in loblolly pine with respect to the potential impact of volatile organic compound emissions during drying. The total terpene content in the inside, middle, and outside of increment core sections from twelve 40-year-old loblolly pines was determined over a period of 14 months. A method for extracting and analyzing terpene...
متن کاملDeadwood Decay in a Burnt Mediterranean Pine Reforestation
Dead wood remaining after wildfires represents a biological legacy for forest regeneration, and its decay is both cause and consequence of a large set of ecological processes. However, the rate of wood decomposition after fires is still poorly understood, particularly for Mediterranean-type ecosystems. In this study, we analyzed deadwood decomposition following a wildfire in a Mediterranean pin...

The kinetic study of the condensation reaction between phloroglucinol and acetone was investigated at 30, 35, 40 and 45±0.05 °C in 100% methanol. The hydrochloric acid concentrations used were 0.0261, 0.0364, 0.0577 and 0.0728 M. The reaction was investigated with and without a promoter, thioglycollic acid (TGA), and taking into account the functionality (h<e...
متن کاملProcess Modelling and Validation of LNG Re-Liquefaction
During transportation, there will be vaporization of LNG producing boil-off gas (BOG) and its re-liquefaction is required considering that large volume of BOG to be vented out. A cryogenic refrigeration cycle is utilized in order to re-liquefy the BOG and returns it to the cargo tank. Kapitza and claude are the usually used LNG re-liquefaction cycles. The developments in the processes adopted f...
